The "Dirty Little Secret" of the Recruiting Industry
Shocking, isn't it? The recruiting industry has a dirty secret? Before we all get
too cynical, there's a good reason to raise this issue.
Did you know that while many traveling nurses are putting in a 12-hour shift, the
presidents and CEOs of major recruiting firms are making $300, $400 and even $700
an hour? Did you get that? $700 an hour to run a nurse staffing company. The whole
time you're making, say $33 an hour.
Is that really fair?
It's unfortunate that in today's dollar-driven business climate nurses are seen
as just a commodity in some organizations. One major reason that these mega-recruiting
companies sometimes treat nurses with disrespect is because they are publicly traded.
That means they are responsible to a board of directors and shareholders who expect
nothing but a profit from their investment.
That's true. Mega-recruiting companies are in the business of making money off your
work, and taking the profits and giving huge bonuses to the "leadership teams,"
then making sure the shareholders are happy. Further, they are constantly trying
to drive their stock price higher and higher. All of this as a result of your work.
When you're looking for a good company to work with, make sure you pick people who
will work hard for you, and look out for your best interest.

What are nurses
saying about TG Healthcare?

"I was a first time traveler and I chose TG Healthcare. Everything was as they
said it would be. I can’t wait to see where TG takes me next!"
